A
mammary implant is essentially a silicone elastomer envelope usually filled with
psychological serum or silicone gel.
The implant form is ususally circular,
but in certain cases a use of implants known as 'anatomicals' and having the form
of a drop is possible.
There is no limit age to set the mammary prothesis
. In plastic surgery, we can set up a mammary prothesis after puberty, especially
in the case of a serious mammary asymmetry.
With the young girls, the hormonal
development and the possible taking of contraceptive pills are possible factors
of the change of the chest shape ;thus it would be preferable to wait till the
end of the puberty in order to estimate the final volume of the chest.
One
should consider about 24 to 48 hours of hospital care and 8 to 10 days of sick
leave along with some sacrifices (carrying heavy weights, driving, sport exercise).
